Starting with the latest release by Hatchie, Secretly Group will release select tracks and albums in Dolby Atmos using mixes created by Immersion Networks’ Studio Services.

As streaming platforms offer listeners an ever wider array of higher-quality audio options from hi-res to Dolby Atmos, labels are facing headwinds. Most tools and processes for mixing in immersive formats are hard to access, slow to scale, and expensive to use.

Immersion Networks has built a platform and suite of services that solve these pain points, making it simple for high-caliber artists to reimagine their catalogs in lush, compelling Dolby Atmos. IN’s proprietary tools are used to craft Atmos mixes with an even greater sense of space, presence, and emotional impact.

In its latest initiative to create more affordable on-ramps for independent labels seeking quality Atmos audio, Immersion Networks has partnered with leading independent label Secretly Group  to create nuanced Atmos mixes at catalog-level scale. “We want to bring you to a place that makes you feel like you’re present at the session, not just listening to static sound,” explains Immersion Networks CEO and co-founder Paul Hubert. “Our goal is to connect you with the music of Secretly artists in a way you’ve never felt before.”

The team at Immersion has quickly become an important new resource for us in the spatial audio space. They’ve been adaptive to our needs and—as a result—provided an efficient and accessible option in an area that had been anything but,” says Ben Swanson, co-founder and owner of Secretly Group. “More than anything, Immersion is passionate about the music and puts a ton of care into our projects. We couldn’t be more pleased to be working with them.”

“Immersion Networks is dedicated to bringing the best Atmos and spatial audio experience to everyone”, explains Immersion COO Jim Rondinelli. “Our proprietary software cloud was purpose-built for immersive audio, and allows catalog owners to scale the creation of hand-crafted Atmos mixes more efficiently than any approach in-market. Our partnership with Secretly Group is the first of many to come, all with the goal of giving artists more-efficient paths to access the growing Dolby Atmos ecosystem.

Immersion Networks, creator of the mix³ (mixcubed) platform and high-end custom solutions for truly immersive audio experiences, is cutting the ribbon on one of the first purpose-built reference studios for the next generation of audio. The Seattle-area, music-focused space was designed and constructed by some of the most respected acoustic experts and audio engineers.

The space was designed and constructed for the specific application of immersive listening and playback, using both acoustic treatments that are front-back-side symmetric as well as creating the ultimate set of precisely matched speakers. The space is capable of reproducing sound far beyond human hearing capabilities and tuned to be absolutely neutral.

“Traditional mixing control rooms are ill-suited for immersive audio mixing, due to their different reflective qualities on the front and back walls,” explains Paul Hubert, prolific audio inventor and CEO of Immersion Networks. “A control room originally designed for stereo content, which is delivered from the front to the back of the room, is not usually well suited for immersive content where the sound comes at the listener from all sides. Our facilities were specifically designed to be contribution-free from any angle, ensuring the most neutral sound possible regardless of where the sound is coming from. Stereo rooms are hard to retool, as you can’t just throw more speakers in there. Immersive rooms have fundamentally different requirements.”

Instead, Immersion Networks has applied some of its groundbreaking audio science to design and build a room specifically for music and other experiences in new audio formats like Atmos™. To do this, the team upended traditional control room design, which is intended to be directional, and ensured the room would provide a neutral listening environment from any angle or orientation.

“Spatial and immersive audio adoption has exploded, yet there are few places where you can create an excellent mix in these formats,” says Hubert. “We’re proud to take immersive mixing to the next level by forging the environment and tools pros need to make a truly outstanding immersive audio experience.”

The new space will be open to Immersion Networks partners and affiliates. Journalists are welcome to tour the space and experience the full thrill of spatial audio in all its glory.

LA-based Sorkin will represent the immersive audio company to labels, music producers and engineers.

Immersion Networks, the immersive sound innovators, have enlisted industry veteran Ellis Sorkin to spearhead outreach and support for their content creation services to a broad base of clients. Sorkin will guide artists and labels seeking a high-quality, large-scale, and affordable solution to deliver immersive libraries from their legacy catalogs. Sorkin will work from Los Angeles, rounding out the Seattle-based team of audio scientists and music industry experts.

“Ellis will help us reach more creators and transform more great music into truly moving immersive experiences,” says Immersion Networks co-founder and CEO Paul Hubert. “As labels leap to create new immersive versions of their catalogs, Ellis is perfectly situated to accelerate our aspirations to become the world’s premier service for next-generation content creation.”

Ellis Sorkin has been a driving force in music recording, both in the studio and as a key industry insider. Earlier in his career as an engineer for A&M Records, Sorkin worked with Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Carly Simon, Joan Baez, Quincy Jones, Joe Cocker, The Carpenters, and many others.

As the Founder of Studio Referral Service Inc., Sorkin leveraged his expertise to create the industry’s leading global booking agency for high-end recording studio facilities and associated real estate holdings. This deep knowledge of recording and of studios will serve Sorkin well in this role. “I’m excited to bring Immersion’s approach to labels and the artist community,” Sorkin says. “Immersion Networks is providing a high-quality, mid-tier option that has the best processing in the industry and specifically meets the needs of labels and rights holders who need to get immersive recordings to DSPs. Labels need to create an excellent immersive mix for a large number of tracks in their catalog without breaking the bank. At the same time, streaming services are clamoring for bigger immersive libraries. Immersion has created a best-in-breed platform and team that allows them to deliver the high-quality, customized services required by the industry at scale to meet the demands of the marketplace in this pivotal moment.”

Create dynamic spatial mixes quickly and easily thanks to new automation mode for the world’s best spatial audio creation tools

Immersion Networks’ cloud-based mix³ creator platform (mixcubed.com) has just launched new features which make it even easier to create spatial audio mixes. Now creators can access full automation of both position and gain, allowing them to move any sound fluidly through space, the perfect enhancement for musical creation and audio storytelling. Users can even dynamically automate the width of a stereo source using stems or stereo input files.

These new powers boil down to more flexibility and more expressiveness in spatial mixes for audio creators, whether they are producing a riveting podcast or mixing a new track. mix³’s automation allows creators to move sounds around a listener smoothly by adjusting position throughout a much broader immersive field. When combined with mixcubed’s multi-dimensional sonic environments, artists and storytellers can render a sense of space, place and feeling that transcends anything available in market today.

All of the new automation features (see tutorial here) are included in the standard $9.99 monthly subscription to mix³. Subscribers can have up to 200 projects with 32 tracks per project on the platform. Once mixes are rendered, they can be enjoyed by anyone with headphones via any streaming service, no special hardware or software needed.

“We’ve developed the simplest, but most nuanced and technically advanced way for audio creators to create compelling, fully 360-degree audio experiences,” says Immersion Networks President and Founder Paul Hubert. “We know creators will come up with some truly unprecedented storytelling using the tools we’ve built.”

Immersion Networks, the spatial audio innovators, are launching a cloud platform that allows anyone to upload tracks and mix them in a three-dimensional environment. Remarkably intuitive and affordable, mix³ by Immersion Networks (mixcubed.com; pronounced “mixcubed”) is the first 3D audio mixing platform available to everyone--podcasters, content creators, producers, artists, and engineers--that lets them transform files into lush, intimate, headphone-ready mixes. These mixes can be appreciated without special hardware and distributed through streaming services.

“mix³ is the point of entry to a new world of emotionally-compelling audio experiences that redefine what’s possible with the hardware a customer already owns,” says Jim Rondinelli, COO of Immersion Networks. “Our transformative audio experience can be delivered on any streaming media platform. We put a lot of effort into making these tools accessible to every content creator at a nominal cost, whether they’re making videos for TikTok and YouTube or operating the world’s top recording studios.”

Using mix³ is easy: Users upload mono or stereo tracks and can place them in any position relative to the listener. They can experiment with proximity and depth, finding the perfect spot to ensure sound separation and to invoke the right emotional response. The end result is new and striking. The platform can enhance and speed up the mixing process even for seasoned pros.

“mix³ is a mastering quality, cloud-based 3D audio mixing platform,” says inventor and Immersion Networks President and Founder Paul Hubert. “We put it in the cloud because the computational requirements are so high to offer this level of sound. It allows creators to access the power of extremely expensive specialized audio hardware and computers from any device. No one has to change anything, whether they’re mixing a podcast or sound effects or their latest single. They can just head to our website. Anyone of the billions of potential listeners out there can experience it on existing headphones.”

mix³’s new spatial audio format has already been used in commercial releases distributed to streaming platforms like Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music. mix³ is offering a free 30-day trial with an introductory subscription starting at $9.99/mo. Users can sign up for early access today at: www.mixcubed.com
